Rapper Kodak Black has received a massive legal victory after prosecutors officially dropped drug trafficking charges against him, marking his second major courtroom win in a matter of days.
Key Details of the Dropped Case
- The Decision: Prosecutors filed a “no information” notice stating there is insufficient evidence to prove possession of contraband. Consequently, they will not formally move forward with the prosecution.
- The Origin: The charges stemmed from a November 2025 incident in Orlando, Florida. Police responded to reports of gunshots and later claimed they recovered a pink bag containing a trafficking amount of MDMA alongside $37,000 in cash.
- The Arrest: While Kodak wasn’t arrested immediately at the scene, laboratory testing later confirmed the substance, leading to an arrest warrant and subsequent booking on trafficking charges in May 2026 before he was released on bond.
Back-to-Back Legal Victories
This latest dismissal follows closely behind another win for the Florida artist. Just days prior, a South Florida judge granted a motion by Kodak’s defense attorney, Bradford Cohen, to throw out a separate February 2026 case involving allegations of fleeing from police. Cohen successfully argued that the responding deputy failed to execute lawful orders or properly engage the rapper.
Celebrating the back-to-back dismissals on social media, Cohen emphasized that his client should never have been criminally charged in either matter.
