For years, graphic designers — especially those deep in Photoshop and Illustrator — held the keys to the culture.
Need a mixtape cover? Flyer for a party? Promo for your brand?
You had to tap in with a designer.
Not anymore.
Now? You can open ChatGPT, type in what you want, pay less than $10 a month… and get a flyer that’s not just decent — but sometimes better than what you were about to pay $50, $100, even $300 for.
Yeah. We said it.

And that’s exactly why the internet been full of designers low-key (and high-key) trying to shame people for using AI.
You’ve seen it:
“AI flyers look cheap.”
“Support real designers.”
“This is killing creativity.”
But let’s be honest… is it really about “creativity”?
Or is it about competition?
Because from the outside looking in, it’s starting to feel like gatekeeping.
THE REAL SHIFT: ACCESS OVER EGO
Here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud:
AI didn’t just disrupt designers — it empowered everybody else.
The artist with no budget.
The small business owner just getting started.
The independent creator who got tired of slow replies, missed deadlines, or designs that didn’t match the vision.

Now they don’t need permission.
They don’t need to wait.
They don’t even need to talk to anybody if they don’t want to.
They just create.
And that’s dangerous… if your business was built on being the middleman.
“AI IS TRASH”… OR IS IT JUST BETTER THAN YOU?
Let’s really go there.
Some of these AI-generated flyers?
They’re clean. They’re sharp. They convert.
And the uncomfortable truth is — not every designer was delivering that level of quality anyway.
So when people say,
“AI is ruining design…”
What some users are hearing is:
“AI is exposing who was overcharging.”

BUT HERE’S WHERE IT GETS REAL…
Let’s not get carried away.
Saying “design is dead” is like saying music died when streaming came out.
That’s not what happened.
The game just changed.
Because while AI can generate fast visuals, it still struggles with:
The designers who only knew how to execute? Yeah, they’re in trouble.
But the ones who can think, direct, and build brands?
They’re not going anywhere.
If anything — they’re about to charge even more.
ADAPT OR GET LEFT
This isn’t really about AI vs designers.
It’s about evolution.
The same way DJs had to adjust to streaming.
The same way photographers had to adjust to iPhones.
The same way artists had to adjust to social media.
Now it’s designers’ turn.
Learn AI.
Use the tools.
Level up your creativity.
Because the truth is — AI isn’t replacing designers.
It’s replacing designers who refuse to evolve.
FINAL WORD:
If somebody can get a flyer they love for $9 a month instead of paying you $150…
That’s not their fault.
That’s the market speaking.
QUESTION FOR THE CULTURE:
Is AI killing graphic design… or exposing it? 👀
Drop a YES or NO in the comments and tag a designer who needs to see this.
