We’re Hiring Interns !

By The HipHop Report Staff

Jessie and D’Lila Combs are speaking publicly for the first time since their father, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison. Despite the intense media attention surrounding the music mogul’s legal troubles, the twins say they remain focused on building their own legacy.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday (July 17), the 18-year-old sisters discussed the launch of their new fashion brand, 12TWINTY1, while also addressing the impact of their father’s legal situation.

“We’re Our Own Individuals”

When asked whether Diddy’s legal issues have affected them personally, D’Lila made it clear that she and her sister refuse to let public perception define who they are.

“People fail to realize that just because he’s our dad doesn’t mean like, his press is his own press. Our press is our own press,” D’Lila said. “People fail to understand that we are also individuals. Like it’s separate. So I don’t have any fear.”

The statement reflects the twins’ determination to establish themselves independently, despite carrying one of the most recognizable last names in entertainment.

Turning Adversity Into Motivation

Jessie echoed her sister’s thoughts, saying that the challenges surrounding their family have only motivated them to work harder.

“I just feel like we’ve never allowed any of that to stop us. We have to keep going. And it’s honestly just made us push and work harder because we’re not going to stop.”

Rather than allowing controversy to overshadow their ambitions, the sisters say they’re channeling their energy into entrepreneurship through their clothing line.

Speaking About Their Father

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

While acknowledging the difficult circumstances, Jessie said her father has remained committed to improving himself and staying connected with his children.

“He’s been very focused, you know, like being a better person for his family… he’s just always been there for us.”

Family Remains Their Foundation

The twins also emphasized that the strength of their family has helped them navigate one of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Jessie credited not only her parents but also the close relationship she shares with her siblings.

“I feel like honestly having a twin and having other siblings has really helped because you always have people that are there. Our parents also raised us to be strong. We’re so grateful for that strength.”

A New Chapter

As Jessie and D’Lila continue promoting 12TWINTY1, they appear determined to separate their personal accomplishments from the headlines surrounding their father. Their first public interview signals that, while they continue to support their family, they are equally focused on building careers and identities of their own.

Whether the public embraces that distinction remains to be seen, but the twins have made one thing clear—they have no intention of letting controversy define their future.

What do you think? Should Jessie and D’Lila Combs be judged independently of their father’s legal troubles? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
