In a dramatic post-trial twist, Kewon White, the man convicted of gunning down Dallas rapper Mo3 on a busy highway in 2020, has broken his silence. Following a jury verdict finding him guilty of capital murder and a sentence of life in prison without parole, White phoned into a livestream to set the record straight on one major allegation: Yella Beezy never paid him a dime.

“I Made My Choices”: Kewon White Breaks His Silence

Calling in to podcaster MrLawtonTV just one day after receiving his sentence, White pushed back directly against the prosecution’s primary narrative that he acted as a hitman paid by Yella Beezy (real name Markies Conway) to carry out the murder.

“Y’all want it to be something so bad that it’s not,” White said during the call. “Y’all want that man to go down so bad. Like, that’s not the case, bro. I got my time. I don’t give a f**k about nothing. But that is not the case, bro.”

White, who did not take the stand in his own defense during his trial, emphasized that he was taking responsibility for his own actions rather than protecting anyone else:

“I didn’t get paid to do nothing, bro,” White added. “But that story will come out. It will come out. But me sitting here saving Yella, I’m not saving that [expletive]. That [expletive] a grown-ass man. I ain’t saving nobody. Only thing I’m here to do is tell the truth.”

The Prosecution’s Murder-for-Hire Theory

Throughout White’s trial, prosecutors presented evidence arguing that the fatal November 2020 shooting on Dallas’ I-35 was the result of a long-standing, bitter rivalry between Mo3 and Yella Beezy.

Key arguments from law enforcement and state prosecutors included:

  • The Alleged $20,000 Payout: Investigators alleged cell phone records and testimonies indicated White was paid $20,000 for carrying out the daytime hit.
  • Financial Records: A Dallas detective testified that Yella Beezy withdrew $40,000 in cash shortly after Mo3’s death, alleging the money was used to finance the hit.
  • Capital Murder Charges: Based on the murder-for-hire theory, Yella Beezy was charged with capital murder by remuneration.

However, White’s defense attorney, Bree West, maintained during closing arguments that while Mo3’s death was tragic, the state failed to present concrete proof that White ever received or was promised payment for the crime.

What Lies Ahead for Yella Beezy

While White has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars, the legal battles surrounding Mo3’s death are far from over.

Yella Beezy’s trial is approaching quickly, with jury selection set to begin. As prosecutors prepare to present their case against Beezy for orchestrating the hit, White’s unexpected public statement denying any payment adds a wild card to an already intense, high-profile legal battle.
